Sep 14, 2019· Initial Machine Review I will say I knew nothing about milling when I got this machine. My only experience prior to this mill was using a Smithy 3-in-1 machine where the motor would stall if you tried to move too fast with a 1/4" end mill. Even that machine I only used a couple times.

Mar 14, 2014· Matt at Precision Matthews has some stock of popular mills and 1440's and his 1236 and 1340's are due to arrive very soon but some machines he's still waiting for. The distributors can only say sorry to the customer and wait in line.

That being said, a quick email about a machine's availability and pricing will get a quick (well, at least in a couple days) and thorough quote on availability and price options. I asked about an RMl-1440 via email, and Matt had the answer back to me right away ($12750, 7-10 weeks).
Mar 11, 2016· Precision Matthews hands down, been running a PM 1340GT for a number of years and it's been a sweet machine, had a couple little issues that Matt dialed me in on, one needed a part and it was at my door fast the other was just a loose wire and he talked me into it no issues. Lathe came with DRO and VFD installed and ready.

May 16, 2012· It is a very nice machine, but my milling experience is limited to only that machine, so my view could be totally skewed. In the end, I got the G0704 because: It's heavier, by a long shot, than the mini mills. Everyone with mill experience said weight matters. The digital depth readout is very nice. The table is a lot larger than the mini mills
