Just go to the Timzak caves and gather velium weapons. you can break each velium weapon into 1 small brick of velium and 2 pieces usinging a velium smithing hammer and the weapon. then use a chisel and beat the small brick into another two pieces. I do use banded/cured/wu's to get them above 100, and making the sewing kits can be a challenge if I try to early. It works quite well, and isn't that expensive, and doesn't cost any $$, just plat.
